The PSQ just got back from presenting a session, “How
To Enhance Your Sax Section Through Chamber
Music,”
at the
California Music
Educator’s State Conference
in Ontario, CA. We performed and demonstrated music
that would be appropriate for middle school and high
school saxophone quartets. If you’re interested in
the handout from the session, click

We also got a chance to meet with the composer, Laura Karpman, who is currently writing a new work for the PSQ to be premiered with the San Jose Chamber Orchestra, directed by Barbara Day-Turner. She’s got some great ideas for the piece and you don’t want to miss the premier in October!
We’re getting close to finishing our debut recording. We have already recorded Lucie Robert’s “Magheia” for saxophone quartet and piano, and Carl Anton Wirth’s “Diversions in Denim.” This summer we’ll be finishing with Jon Scoville’s “Sr. Miro’s Saxophone Quartet.” Please check back for updates or email us to join our mailing list.
Thanks for reading!
